Why did I decide to become a travel advisor? In 2022, my father became extremely ill with esophageal cancer. My son was born later that year. Naturally, I spent my maternity leave with my father, going to various appointments, and just spending time with him and my new baby. During circumstance of this magnitude, we tend to take time and reflect look back on our lives.
On many occasions when I could see he was deep in thought, my father would break the silence with a smile and ask, “Do you remember that year we spent at Disney?” There was a year that my parents purchased annual passes and we spent at least one long weekend a month at Disney World for an entire year. Or, he would say, “That Alaskan Cruise was incredible wasn’t it?” It always took me by surprise how the memories and moments we had shared during our family vacations over the years meant so much to him during this time. The memories of kayaking in circles because we couldn't steer quite right or of my sisters valiantly conquering the karaoke stage energized and filled him with joy. And you know what? A travel advisor had helped us craft these moments. She had put our vacation itineraries together to ensure we had the space and ability to make these memories. That is why I became a travel advisor. I was already creating meaningful moments for my guests and team on the hotel level and I saw the possibility of multiplying that reach globally. My goal and passion is to create space for my clients to connect with their loved ones and to craft moments that they can look back on and smile when they need it most. |
